Curly hair
Curly and wavy hair tends to be naturally drier and more porous due to the irregular shape of the curls, which prevents sebum from evenly coating the hair shaft. The cuticles are often raised and disorganized, resulting in a rough texture, dull appearance, and tangling.
This type of hair is more prone to frizz and breakage, especially in drier areas, as the fiber is usually thinner and more fragile. In addition, product residue (such as styling creams, gels or dry shampoo) often accumulates on the scalp, contributing to excessive oiliness and flaking, which may eventually lead to thinning or hair loss.
As a result, curly hair requires deep hydration, curl-defining products that don’t weigh it down, and regular scalp detox to maintain oil balance and microbiota health.
