Liss / Straightened hair
Hair that has been thermally or chemically straightened undergoes structural changes that alter its natural elasticity and resilience. Straightening breaks and reshapes protein bonds within the hair, and the resulting smooth finish often comes at the expense of internal strength. Although the hair may appear sleek and shiny, it becomes more susceptible to dryness, breakage, and a lack of flexibility.
When hair is also previously colored or sensitized, the risks of irreversible damage are even greater. Cuticles may become sealed too tightly, preventing moisture absorption and leading to brittleness. This type of hair benefits from intensive repair routines with amino acids, ceramides, and acids that rebuild internal bonds and restore elasticity.
Though it appears straight and well-aligned, chemically treated hair requires regular hydration and reconstruction to maintain fiber health, prevent split ends, and avoid excessive weakening over time.
